Setting Portion Size for Label in Nutritics

In order to ensure the proper portion size appears on Nutritional Labels, make sure to follow steps below in Nutritics prior to importing the item into Menu Command.

1. Build your recipe in Nutritics by adding ingredients.

2. Once you have built your recipe, scroll up to the “Food Labeling Section”.

3. DO NOT change the number in the “Label Values per” field. This is a default suggested serving size from Nutritics.

4. On the right side of the screen, note the “Weight after cooking field.” Nutritics has calculated this number based on the quantities and ingredients added. Make sure to put the weight after cooking to account for changes during the cooking process. Note that the Weight Change Factor value will change.

5. Then set the number of servings the recipe makes. In this case, we have set it to 4 servings.

6. You will notice that there is now a second column that shows these nutritional values. At the top of the column, Nutritics has set the serving size based on the weight and yield. This is the column of information that will be pass through to Menu Command and printed onto the label in Menu Pilot.
